RW Bro Archibald Iain Torrance

Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Kent

As most readers will be aware, RW Bro Archibald Iain Torrance was Installed as Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Kent at the Provincial Meeting held at Margate on Saturday 28 September 2013 by the Pro Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Benjamin Addy.
RW Bro Archie was advanced into the Lord Harris Mark Lodge on 11 April 1990. He was elected as Worshipful Master for the first time in 1998. In 2001, RW Bro Archie was appointed to the active rank of Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies and in September 2006 was further promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Registrar. In May 2007 he was again elected as Worshipful Master of Lord Harris Lodge. This was rapidly followed in 2008 when he was promoted to the active rank of Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies. In 2010, RW Bro Archie was promoted to the active rank of Grand Steward, and later in the same year was appointed as Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Kent. 2013 saw a further promotion to Past Grand Junior Deacon. In 2012, he was also elected as Worshipful Master of Kent Installed Mark Masters Lodge No 999.
Not only is the Lodge very proud to have one of its Past Masters appointed as Provincial Grand Master but also wishes to offer its congratulations to an excellent Mason and a good friend to all! The Lord Harris Lodge is named after the fifth Baron Harris, who was Provincial Grand Master from 1936 to 1956. How fitting that a son of the Lodge should now be appointed as Provincial Grand Master!
The Lodge also offers warm congratulations to VWBro David Green on being Installed as Deputy Provincial Grand Master and also to WBro's Ralph Apperley and Fred Brown on being Installed as Assistant Provincial Grand Masters.
