Lord Harris Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners

Most Mark Lodges have a Royal Ark Mariner Lodge "moored" to them.

The Lord Harris Lodge of Mark Master Masons was consecrated on Saturday 21 January 1978. There is no doubt that the Founders were keen and committed Freemasons. Founding a Lodge is no easy task. That they succeeded in founding the Mark Lodge is testament to their commitment.

Almost inevitably, members of the Lodge and other Brethren decided that there should be a Lord Harris Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners.

So it was that on Saturday 28 February 1981, the Lord Harris Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners 1494 was consecrated at Sidcup Masonic Hall.

The founders clearly laid a solid base for the Lodge. On Friday 8 September 2006, the Lodge celebrated its Silver Jubilee. Again with much work by the Scribe, W.Bro. Derrick Lincoln, a celebratory meeting was held and a booklet was produced to mark the occasion. A copy of the booklet can be read by clicking on the thumbnail image below. The group picture on page 15 again brings some sadness as some of the Brothers featured are no longer with us. The rest of us can reflect upon what a difference a few years make!
